RD-CF is mainly used in water-based pesticide formulations due to its inherent suspension, thixotropy, and thickening properties. It is an excellent agent for water-based pesticide formulations such as water suspensions, wettable dispersible granules, suspension seed treatments, and water-emulsifiable concentrates, imparting excellent suspension, thixotropy, thickening, and lubricating properties to related pesticide formulations, improving the homogeneity, stability, and ease of application of pesticide formulations.
Properties and Functions of RD-CF in Pesticide Formulations
● Stability
HX-CF products are non-metallic nanomaterials, pure natural mineral gels, which are not decomposed by bacteria, heating, or mechanical shearing, will not be eroded by microorganisms, remain unchanged for long-term storage, will not mildew, and the viscosity does not change with temperature. They can be hydrated with deionized water at room temperature and expand into a suspended colloid. At a concentration of 1~2.5%, it forms a semi-transparent thixotropic gel, eliminating the heating process, saving energy, and being convenient. However, magnesium aluminum silicate (non-extreme gel) cannot be used alone as a thickener in pesticide formulations; it needs to be compounded with organic gels such as xanthan gum to achieve the best effect. The general compounding ratio is 1:10, i.e., 1 part xanthan gum: 10 parts magnesium aluminum silicate (non-extreme gel).
● Thixotropy
Magnesium aluminum silicate (non-extreme gel) has unique high thixotropy, significantly superior to other organic and inorganic gels. This is a unique property of magnesium aluminum silicate (non-extreme gel), much better than ordinary bentonite. In some medium and low-content suspension systems, this performance is particularly prominent, maintaining the appropriate viscosity, good self-dispersing properties, and excellent stability.
● Suspending Property
In a magnesium aluminum silicate gel system of appropriate concentration, it can bond and suspend powdery materials, stabilize suspensions, prevent the sedimentation, aggregation, and hardening of suspended substances, making the suspension uniform in texture, easy to use, and easier to spray, and not affected by external forces or time. Its suspending performance exceeds other organic and inorganic suspending agents, effectively solving the frequent layering and sedimentation problems in suspension systems. Used as an anti-settling agent for solid particles in suspension systems, the effect is significant, maintaining a uniform concentration and greatly helping the appearance of the product after long-term storage.
● Thickening Property
When magnesium aluminum silicate (non-extreme gel) is used in combination with organic colloids, it exhibits a synergistic effect, achieving optimal efficiency. Magnesium aluminum silicate gel helps coordinate viscosity and yield value, resulting in better and more economical viscosity and stability than using a single gel. The viscosity is increased exponentially.
● Compatibility
Magnesium aluminum silicate (non-extreme gel) can be used in combination with anionic, non-ionic, and amphoteric surfactants. It is stable in a slightly acidic to medium alkaline medium and remains stable in systems containing small amounts of salt electrolytes. Pesticide suspensions are usually non-ionic and anionic wetting and dispersing systems, sometimes with the addition of trace amounts of inorganic salt electrolytes to adjust certain properties. Generally, the stability of magnesium aluminum silicate (non-extreme gel) in such systems exceeds the expectations of formulators and achieves relatively ideal results.Product Specifications
